Born and raised in Vietnam, Chi feels very fortunate to have an opportunity to study abroad in the U.S. Graduated from Drexel University, Chi is currently working as Construction Cost Consultant at AECOM in San Francisco. Inspired by the giving and volunteering culture within her network, Chi feels the need of giving back to her own community and helps those less fortunate ones in Vietnam. She believes every little help counts. If one cannot support financially, he or she can still volunteer and help spreading the words that can make an impact. Volunteering has brought Chi many great lasting friendships that she will treasure for life.
One of her aspirations for many years is to be able to help the children, in particular the orphans who were abandoned and neglected find a better life. Raised in Canada and graduated with a major in Accounting and Financial Management, she feels very fortunate to be given endless opportunities, and resources to obtain not only her education, but to further her professional career as a Financial Accountant, while millions of kids in her homeland struggle to find the next meal. This has fueled her desire to return to Vietnam, with a hope to contribute where she can, in effort to alleviate difficult living conditions for under privileged families, so that their children can have an equal opportunity to go to school and have a brighter future.
Luan Nguyen started working with disadvantaged children in Vietnam when he was in high school. The early experience left such a strong impression on him that he has been involved in community services ever since. Luan grew up in Vietnam and is currently working as an Economics Consultant in San Francisco. He always thinks there is more that can be done and there are better ways to help alleviate poverty at home.
Paul was born in Vietnam but now resides in San Jose, California. He has held management positions with two Fortune 500 company, AT&T and Verizon Wireless for over 15 years before leaving for a career in the technology sector. Before he help formed Because Vietnam, he has volunteered his time with many non profit organizations to help disadvantaged children and people through out Vietnam. He hopes to return to Vietnam in the near future to start his own business, and continues his humanitarian mission throughout Vietnam.
Truong was born in Vietnam and left the country like millions of other Vietnamese as a result of war at the age of six. As a refugee, he resided in Thailand and Philippines for nearly three years before arriving in America. Currently, he is working in the technology industry and is pursuing his second career in real estate. He has done a few charitable activities in the past and frequently promotes fundraising for charity missions. He enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, cooking and martial arts.
Kelly is very passionate about charity work and helping disadvantage people. Through hardship and determination she graduated from Huflit University in Saigon, Vietnam and is now a Marketing Manager at Mosaicsystems International, marketing firm based in the United Kingdom. Kelly strongly believes that through education one will have more opportunities for better jobs and a more sustainable way of living. She is dedicated to helping others and give back to the society as much as she can because she feel that it truly makes her happy while making others happy.
